Changing Your Plants Shoes Gently, Or It's Scenery Altogether.

If you're going to change your plant's, even young ones, to another planter it is a gentle process. Especially if they are young sprouts. If they are new, and it's still a bit chilly I'd change them inside, since they're young roots will be exposed. It's sort of like us taking a bath. You don't want to shiver. I'm sure they don't either.

Laying some newspaper down  to keep dirt off the floor is a good idea too. It's less messy that way. Pick you planter of choice for the new location, and put the young sappling beside it. Then gently turning it on its side, and cupping your empty hand around the mouth of the container, gently pet the bottom of the old pot, with the young sappling in it. Be very gentle. Remember; plants are sensitive to vibrations. That, and you don't want your young seedling toppling out in the process, and suffering any damage.

Be careful. Tap it as if it was a baby's bottom, and your comforting a crying baby. Now, once you've removed your seedling gently, fill the new pot with fresh, new soil. Any good soil will do. As long as it's dark, and rich with nutrients. Fill it about 3/4 of the way, then fill the rest to the top with soil from the old planter, and give it a sip of water. The water will not only settle the new surroundings a bit, but will also help your new young plant keep from going into shock because the roots were exposed for a minute.Find a sunny warm place, and let it rest there.Plants are like humans. They get bored with the scenery, so change them around once in a while.

I had a friend many years ago, who used to put her Ivy in the shower window every so often. It loved the humidity, and grew, and grew. It was  a Pothos Ivy. She'd give it special treatment once in a while by rubbing it with mayonnaise on the leaves, and shing it with that to brighten it up.
I don't know what that does for it, never heard about that in horticulture class, but her Ivy looked fantastic!!! And it sure loved the attention it got, cause that thing grew every week!!! Talk about showing your happiness, boy did it! Plants can be great companions, give them a chance.

Oh yes. If you are going to put your plants in the yard, make sure you know how large in height they'll be in final stage, and their circumference. They'll need growing room for the roots. I hope you have enjoyed this article as much as I enjoyed writing it, and researching about it. Gardening is a great joy, and you can get deep satisfaction once you see things begin to sprout. I inspire anyone who feels the urge to get out there and Workin the yard. It can be such a fantastic stress reliever. And harvesting can bring so much happiness, and many surprises.

Until then, happy planting!
