Is Gardening Really Great Stress Relief???

I've been saying it for years. Gardening is great for relieving stress. But is there really proof of how beneficial it can be. And in which ways is it really good for the phisique, and intellect?? How does it benefit us?

Well yes. Gardening relieves stress and anxiety in many forms. It helps us get some much needed exercise each day. It helps us have a chance to relax in the outdoors, breath in some fresh air. And chances are, if you are lucky enough to have a garden of your own, you eat much healthier foods.

Even having a flower garden can help tremendously. It gets you outside more often, and helps you have alone time to yourself. If you have children , but need your own time, make a little garden for them. Give them plastic spades and a bucket for their own garden, and let them try on their own.

Having a small garden of their own for your child doesn't have to cost a thing. Just stick it in the ground and let them tend to it their with their own creativity. No chemicals of any kind. It might turn out very tasty for the dinner table. Maybe even let them pick their own veggies when the time comes.

Not a cost at all. The next time you chop up a bell pepper save the seeds. A lemon? Save the seed. Green beans? Save the seeds, let them dry a couple days after rinsing them. Then plant. It's a great learning experience for your child to watch something grow. And to be doing it themselves teaches them the importance of responsibility, and gives them an enjoyable type of exercise, and gets them outdoors in the fresh air.

Gardening can lower your Cortisol, causing less chance of heart attack and stroke. It can also help your hands regain strength and help with coordination. It can help you work off some calories, and lower anxiety. Gardening can also boost your self confidence. Succeeding at growing a small garden can make you feel so good. And eating fresher vegetables and fruits knowing just what went into growing them can make you feel so much better knowing what you, and your family are putting into your stomach.

I know it seems like a lot of  bother to some of you. If it does, then offer someone some veggies in exchange for a little help. Also put some cardboard down in an area (small space and  keep garden small) this will give you something to put potting soil on, make holes in the cardboard, and plant seedlings, or seeds
It will help keep weeds down, and eliminates tilling.
